Invasion of Gaza Will Eliminate Support for Israel

LONDON, ground strikes on the Gaza Strip will eliminate the trust and support of other countries against Israel, said British Foreign Secretary William Hague warned on Sunday (18/11/2012). Hague told Sky News television said, is much more difficult to limit casualties among people in a ground attack. It only extends the crisis.

The statement came after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the armed forces are ready to "expand significantly" operations against militant groups in the Gaza Strip.

Sebelummya, Britain declared Hamas bear the main responsibility for the present crisis fueled by rocket attacks into Israel. However, according to the Hague, is now difficult for the international community to maintain a fondness for Israel if the Jewish state launched a ground movement.

"Onslaught of land makes it difficult international community sympathy or support, including the UK," he said.

Earlier, Netanyahu is reported to have assured U.S. President Barack Obama that Israel is not planning to launch a ground offensive into Gaza. According to the report, Netanyahu told Obama, those plans could change if Hamas increased rocket attacks.
